We met last week and are already the best of friends. I had to brave the snow to visit NC Wyeth’s Georges Island, Penobscot Bay, one more time before the museum closes for renovations. This painting feels for all the world like the very rock on which I stood, also overlooking Penobscot Bay, when I realized I needed to leave SF and move to Maine. I can almost smell the sweet ferns and feel the sunshine on my shoulders. (Also, this is a “photographs-OK” piece from the collection. No rules broken.)
