We’re in a protected bay that rarely sees more than a hint of a wave, but today the water was churning and furious. The power’s still out across much of Maine, including here, but we’re cozy by candlelight. Friends are calling and stopping by to check in and chat. Invariably the conversation turns to generators, then to solar panels, and pretty soon we’re plotting out all the players in an imaginary self-sufficient barter economy for our town. Naturally, I’d be the wool person. #imaginarycommunesofknitlandia #poweroutagetalk
