Thank you for coaxing me back into my rightful mental place. Tonight we walked through the woods to a path along the shore that leads to this little point from which steam ships came and went more than 100 years ago. The Victory Chimes is in the harbor tonight. Her presence always feels like a good omen. The three-masted schooner is so special to Maine, she’s even on our state quarter. As we rounded the corner for home, I heard a woman yell “dinner!” in a singsong voice. For this moment, in this little place, all is well. I hope it is for you too.
