The writing process isn’t always that photogenic, so today I’m throwing back to a year ago at the end of the Stash book tour when I got to gaze at this view from the greatest hotel room I’ve ever known.
.
In reality, I spent today indoors wrangling words and memories and facts into submission with the kind of focus where you forget to blink and your body becomes glued in the same position for hours.
.
But I finally caught a glimpse of the book as a whole yesterday. I could feel my mind expanding, like the aperture of a camera lens, to pull in every piece and every detail. It’s a weird mental state of both big picture and laser focus that is exhausting yet energizing, and I know enough of my process to know this means I’m nearing the finish line. Just one more month, my friends.
